This comes at a time when the DP has been accusing opposition leader Raila Odinga of attempting to destroy the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led political outfit.

Speaking on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha show on Monday morning, the lawmaker scoffed at the DP for heaping the blame on the former prime minister.

He said that the party was in the process of falling long before Raila's 2018 truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta, and Ruto should take the blame for failing to salvage the block.

"Kabla ya kumlaumu Raila wacha kwanza aangalie chama chenyewe na atuambie kama kimekuwa imara. Awache tabia ya kumtaja Raila kila mahali bila sababu. (Before blaming Raila it would be more prudent if he took a closer look into the party and its stability. The party was falling anyway. Let him leave Raila out of Jubilee issues)," said the MP.

The DP who was initially quiet on matters politics has suddenly reactivated his political moves and has been crisscrossing the nation attacking Raila in the past few days.

His allies have gone as far as castigating the President over his handshake with Raila, terming the same as a danger to Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.

Raila has denied the claims, insisting that he is not part of the party and has no interest in the 2022 race as of now, and instead has his eyes on his African Union Infrastructure envoy post.
