Malala said MPs have proven to be corrupt following the claims that a section of them received bribes to shoot down the report.

He said the legislators who took the bribes are a shame to the country since they lack the integrity and moral authority to adjudicate matters concerning sugar

"Shame on you, jeopardizing the lives of millions of Kenyans for Sh10,000 you're worse than Judas Iscariot," Malala said.

Malala spoke during a burial ceremony at Tala in Matungulu, Machakos County on Thursday.

He said the report should be handed over to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to probe those accused of taking bribes to trash the report.

"The report should not be returned to parliament, the lawmakers have failed and shouldn't be given the report to discuss. Let the Directorate of Criminal Investigations take over and do a probe," Malala said.

Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati who spoke at the same event said it's true that a section of the lawmakers was bribed.

Arati said the National Assembly is rotten from the house's speaker downwards.

He said the bribery was a well-articulated plan by greedy legislators who stooped low to accept Sh10,000 as a bribe.

However, NASA leader Raila Odinga said the one who issued the bribes should not be blamed but those who received them.

In attendance were Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Matungulu MP Stephen Mule, Homabay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga among other leaders.
