Political analyst Edward Kisangani has claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta is unhappy with his deputy William Ruto, over his restlessness with regards to the approaching 2022 general elections.

Speaking on Citizen Television's Opinion Court on Thursday, Kisiangani noted that the head of state feels let down as a result of Ruto's inability or unwillingness to control his allies' endorsements of his presidential bid.

He stated that Uhuru is growing tired of being reminded of Ruto's readiness to succeed him, adding that the same is undermining him and eating into the limited time remaining for his development agenda.

"The President does not want to be repeatedly reminded of who will take over after he retires. Instead, he wants to be assisted in realizing his manifesto for the country," he said.

"He is uncomfortable with the factions within his party which are only thinking about 2022," he added.

Ruto's endorsements have continued to flow despite both the DP and President's directives that their allies and leaders nationally shelve politicking and concentrate on service delivery to Kenyans.

They have as well been condemned by opposition leader Raila Odinga who has, however, linked them to Ruto, cautioning him against anticipating the top seat, saying that it is too early for such expectations.
