Through his official Facebook page, the firebrand lawmaker posted the message which seemed to indirectly attack DP Ruto for his latest confession.

"As a son of a peasant, I will not use my humble background as a tool to ascend to power, just the same way I do not expect those from rich backgrounds to use their privileged backgrounds as a tool to ascend or keep power. Hubris is unacceptable from those of us from poor backgrounds as it is from the rich. Humility needs to be our guiding factor for both chicken sellers and sons of Presidents," read Moses Kuria's post.

Moses Kuria's message seemingly attacking the DP comes after William Ruto tried to explain his humble background during the National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday where he confessed that he has come from far only through God's grace.

"In 1980, when I was preparing to do standard seven exams, CPE, that was called then. I remember very well when I went to do the exams, I was bare-footed because of course that was the nature of the village life, we didn’t have shoes. My father bought me my first shoes in 1981 from a Mr.Onyango on the streets for Sh60 because he could not afford the bata shoes,” reads parts of DP Ruto’s speech.
