When Hivisasa.com highlighted the story and made it available for Kenyans, vernacular songs enthusiasts took to different social media platforms to congratulate the singers.

The hit song by Samidoh featuring Joyce Wamama was made available on the largest video sharing platform, YouTube on May 17,  2019.

Five days later, the 'Wendo Wi Cama' video is still doing fine and trending at number one. It is not common to see a vernacular song trend at number one on YouTube for more than 2 days considering stiff competition from other artists from East Africa, especially from Tanzanian's Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB) led by Diamond Platnumz, where they produce hit after hit.

At the moment, WCB's Lava Lava's latest hit has only managed to trend at number 10, a clear indication 'Wendo Wi Cama' is a big hit.

It has attracted over 246,539 views on YouTube.

Here are some of the things fans said when they learnt the song was trending at number one.
