Abdi on Wednesday said locals in Masagege village, Etago in Gucha South where the suspect, Evans Mangere Kengere hails from have failed to cooperate with detectives.

“Our efforts to have Kengere arrested have been frustrated by locals where the suspect comes from. No resident is willing to cooperate with detectives who are hunting the suspect,” he said.

The county police boss said they should not be blamed for delaying the arrest of the suspect since they are working around the clock to ensure the suspect is nabbed.

Abdi urged members of the public to shed off their fear and share information with the police on where they suspect the criminal went into hiding after cutting off his wife’s hand.

“We will not reveal the identity of any local who will volunteer information to police regarding Kengere. He is a criminal who should not be allowed to live in the society with others. He must be arrested to face prosecution,” he added.

Kengere is accused of chopping off his wife, Edina Kemuma’s hand after a domestic quarrel.

Kengere committed the offense last week on Monday night.
