He lost that bid after a spirited fight, claiming that he had been rigged out.

What many people are perhaps not aware of is that the name Buzeki is a short form of his three names.

This was revealed by former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto and the leader of Chama cha Mashinani (CCM) in a video shared on YouTube.

Ruto said that the name Buzeki was derived from the first two letters of the businessman's names.

The three names are Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprotich.

"I have been approached by many leaders including and led by Buzeki...Buzeki is just a short form of Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprotich. He just shortened his name. He's one of us," Ruto said in the video

The former governor spoke during a meeting aimed at charting the path for CCM.

Buzeki is among the leaders who have expressed interest in contesting the 2022 election on the CCM party.

The name Buzeki sounds hip and that could be the reason he uses it.

It is also the name he uses in his business.

Buzeki is widely expected to take a stab at the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial race in 2022.
