"A total Ksh. 2.9 million was raised for the group to enable them expand their business ventures," disclosed the MP.

"We will always be grateful for the good things that the leader brings to us and for working with the government. We will always stand with you Mr. Deputy president," he said.

Mwashetani hailed the people of Lungalunga, saying they chose their leadership based on the development record instead of party loyalty which he said is a good sign of the changing voting patterns in the region.

"I therefore promise to deliver on my pledges that I made during the elections so that we change the sub-county for the better."

Ruto was also hosted by Kisauni MP Ali Mbogo, where he attended a fundraiser that aimed to facilitate the construction of the Karisa Maitha Boys National School at Kadongo Grounds in Mishomoroni.

The DP donated a cheque worth Sh20 million, and reiterated the Jubilee government's commitment to support education and infrastructural development across the country.
