It is over one year since Kabogo lost, and it is still not clear whether he will be seeking to defend his seat or contest for a bigger post.

Either way, one thing is clear, if the business tycoon wishes to rekindle his political star, he needs to make serious changes ahead of the next general election.

First, he should dance to the tune of President Uhuru Kenyatta who is the region's political kingpin.

If Kabogo intends to make a comeback, he should be close to the president, join him in various initiatives across the country, and most importantly, endorse various initiatives being rolled out by the Head of State.

Being in good terms with the President will increase his chances of getting an endorsement from the latter, whose recommendation is as good as a win in the region.

Secondly, he should form grassroots teams to start championing his agenda for Kiambu people. This way, he will be more popular and easy to market in the next election.

In addition to forming grassroots teams, he should regularly visit different parts of the county and engage citizens on matters of public interest.

Lastly, he should offer alternative solutions on matters where the county government led by Waititu seem to have erred.

By criticising various happenings in the government, Kabogo will remain relevant, and create a picture of a better leader in the mind of the electorate.
