The newly rebranded Mt Kenya United is actually going to take Kenya football by storm and become the top most successful club after AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia.
Here are four reasons that Mt Kenya United will be the most successful club for the next years to come.
1) Have great sponsorship deal
It has now emerged that the team will be sponsored by two great corporate sponsors; Mobisave and Eqwipetrol. The two are in fact the first tech companies to sponsor any football club in Kenya and will try to prove their worth.
2) Club ambition
The club is so much ambitious that they have set their sights to winning the 2018/2019 league, this will come with a lot of sheer hard work and dedication and will be reflected by their new signings.
The club has also pledged to set up junior and women teams which will be a key ingredient to their future engagements.
3) Political goodwill
The club is the first of its kind to be owned by a politician, the former Embakasi East member of parliament aspirant, Francis Mureithi and patronised by Gatundu South Member of parliament Moses Kuria.
This will be a much-added advantage.
4) Fans
Since the club has been renamed after the famous Mt Kenya region, it will mean that the club will be owned by the people of central Kenya as their own.
A good example is Zoo Kericho football club, a club that is considered to belong to the Rift Valley region and considered as the representative of the region.
