The auctioneers impounded several cars at the institution over the said debt.

According to a source at the university, the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rose Mwonya's official car is among those that were taken by the auctioneers.

“They were court-appointed Legal Auctioneer Company which towed several vehicles from the institution over the Sh15billion debt,” the source disclosed.

The auctioneers reportedly took away the VC’s car keys and two buses which were driven away.

“We are acting on orders of the court in case No. 97/2013 that was heard and determined by the Employment and Labour Relations Court,” one of the auctioneers told campus lady magazine.

This writer's efforts to reach the varsity’s management for comment were futile since Mwonya ignored his phone calls.

The varsity has been entangled in a management tussle as its council had suspended Vice Chancellor Rose Mwonya over accusations of funds embezzlement.

She was later reinstated by the Employment and Labour relations court.

This writer's efforts to also establish how the institution accrued the debt did not bear fruits since key sources in the management could not delve details.
