Jubilee Youth Secretary General Brian Mamboleo says Mr Matiang'i's commitment in restoring order to various ministries is manifestation of his ability to promote peace, development and tranquility in Kenya.

"We don't need rocket science to see what he has done in ICT, Lands, Education and Interior Ministry. He has proved his worth not only to Nyamira people but across the nation.

"The only thing Uhuru can do is just endorsing him to do the job. I hope Raila Odinga will also pull a shock and support him," said Mr Mamboleo.

Similar calls have been intensified across social media groups in Nyamira County with other leaders suggesting creation of Prime Minister post for him before 2022 endorsement.

Magwagwa MCA Fred Omayio, in a phone call said Matiang'i's presidency will restore order by muzzling impunity in all departments.

"We now want him to focus on national leadership. He's not right candidate for governor. He's needed beyond Nyamira," he said.

Since Monday, Matiang'i imposed strict Michuki Rules to roads following increasing cases of road carnage, a move that has since been embraced countrywide.

In the past, sources have linked him to a possible try on Nyamira gubernatorial seat in 2022, where he could be facing Borabu MP Ben Momanyi and ODM Treasurer Timothy Bosire.
