The man, only identified as Hassan, fell to the ground after the normal time play which ended in a 1-1 draw.

According to a friend, Hassan had staked fifty thousand shillings on Russia to win but it was not to be.

Had Russia won the game in normal time, he would have won over one hundred thousand.

''He had staked fifty thousand shillings on the game and was expecting double the amount if Russia won. Unfortunately, Russia drew after normal time and went to lose in the penalties,'' Bunow Mohamed says.

Hassan was given first aid and taken to hospital where he regained consciousness.

Cases of people losing consciousness after losing bets are not new.
