In a post on his Twitter handle, Ruto said that the two addressed various issues of national interest revealing that Kenya and the US pledged to continue working together for the benefit of this nation.

The second in command also noted that various sectors of the economy including manufacturing, renewable energy as well as energy are set to benefit from the cordial ties between the two countries.

“Kenya and the US are engaged to bolster trade ties and explore new opportunities to advance commerce, which will be mutually beneficial. This is in line with Washington's desire to deepen collaboration in manufacturing, renewable energy, health and our push to actualise Big Four,”  DP Ruto said moments after the meeting.

The talks come at a time when Ruto and President Uhuru Kenyatta’s ties seem to weaken each other.

During his tour in Namibia Uhuru declared that he will not spare any in the fight against graft including his closest ally. The remark was considered to be targeting the DP.

Uhuru’s social media accounts were later deactivated. The handshake between Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga has also caused cracks in Jubilee.
