Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has said he will talk to Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka on his recent involvement with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking during a burial ceremony at Ngonda village in Matungulu, Machakos County on Tuesday, Muthama said Kalonzo is on track in realizing his 2022 presidential bid.
Muthama said he will send the former Vice President a message to motivate him on his endeavors.
He said Kalonzo is wise and knows what he is doing.
"I will SMS Kalonzo and tell him to press on. I can see he is trying so much to make his presidential dream come true," Muthama said.
Muthama, however, condemned the Kamba leaders who have declared their interests in the presidential seat citing that no leader is suitable than Kalonzo.
He said Kalonzo is the only Kamba leader who is close to the president.
"I have heard that Makueni, Kitui and Machakos counties each have a presidential candidate, they should know that Kalonzo is the only qualified and suitable leader to vie for the seat on behalf of the community," he added.
Muthama urged the Kamba community to rally behind Kalonzo despite his shortcomings.
"Kikuyus are behind Uhuru no matter what and the Kalenjins too are behind the Deputy president William Ruto. So, Kambas should embrace Kalonzo despite his weaknesses," Muthama said.
