Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa has distanced himself from the controversial scandal Arror and Kimwarer dams scandal which is under investigation by the DCI.
Wamalwa who appeared at the DCI headquarters along Kiambu road on Thursday said that his ministry is not a party to the scandals
"Today I recorded a statement Directorate of Criminal Investigation on Arror and Kimwarer dams probe where I clarified that they were not under my jurisdiction," Wamalwa said through a tweet.
He urged Kenyans to fully support the ongoing investigations seeking to unravel the loss of a reported Sh21 billion in phantom payments for the construction of the two dams.
"Urged Kenyans to support the ongoing investigations and the fight against corruption by our agencies," added the Devolution CS.
The Arror and Kimwarer dams have been at the centre of an investigation involving the improper payments made to an Italian-based company CMC Di Ravena yet construction works are yet to start.
Wamalawa joins Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich who was last week grilled by the DCI detectives for over 46 hours on the Arror and Kimwarer dam saga.
Water and Irrigation CS Mwangi Kiunjuri also appeared before DCI detectives for grilling on Thursday over the issue.
Reports that Sh21 billion may have been lost in the dubious payments has sparked outrage among Kenyans.
