Sharon is set to be laid to rest at her grandfather's home in Magare Village in the same county on Friday, October 19.

As emotions run high within the family due to the loss, her mother Melida Ouma last evening fainted upon the arrival of the body, reports the Standard.

Melida was taken away to her home around 70 metres away for first aid, as villagers thronged the homestead to condole with the family and view the body.

The second year Medical Records student's lifeless body was retrieved from a thicket near Oyugis Town on September 3.

This followed her reported abduction outside Graca Hotel in Rongo Town two days prior, as was alleged by Homabay Nation reporter Barack Oduor, with whom they were kidnapped.

An earlier postmortem conducted by a team led by Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor confirmed that she was killed by multiple stabbings and strangulation.

The mother of three was involved romantically with Migori Governor Okoth Obado before her death, hence the heavy publicity.

Obado remains remanded over alleged involvement in the murder, but has distanced himself from the same.

He has, however, admitted fathering Sharon's 7 month pregnancy, which as well died in the course of her murder.
