Speaking on Radio Maisha’s ‘Kivumbi’ Tuesday morning, Buzeki who unsuccessfully vied for the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat in 2017, recalled how he started off as a milker in Malindi, before getting a tender to supply cows from his Uasin Gishu backyard.

He revealed how he met and befriended a South African named Rord Kane, a top official at Kilifi plantation, who later gave him an order to supply 18 cows, 8 of which died due to the long train journey from Uasin Gishu.

‘’Safari ya gari moshi ilichukua siku tisa na tulipofika, ng’ombe walikuwa wamechoka na wanane wakafa  (the journey took longer than expected, resulting to eight cows dying in the process),’’ said Buzeki.

The man would later employ him as a milker for Sh80 per day, later promoting him to milk salesperson, a job he did well and later found himself doing sales for other major companies.

By 2004, Buzeki said he had saved up enough to start his Buzeki Logistics firm which brags of many trucks and lorries, and went back and bought the Kilifi Plantations where he first worked.

He went ahead to buy Molo Milk and Limuru Dairies, earning him more and more in income.

‘’Kufika 2004, nilianzisha Buzeki Logistics, kisha nikarudi na kununua ile kampuni ya kwanza na nyingine za maziwa (by 2004 I went back and bought the Kilifi Plantation and more dairy factories after starting the Buzeki Logistics),’’ he narrated.

Buzeki would later try his luck at the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat in the 2007 general elections but lost to the incumbent Jackson Mandago who vied on the ruling Jubilee Party ticket.
