President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto, and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga visited Kisumu on Thursday for the launch of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

During the visit, the President was received by a multitude of residents who welcomed him to the city.

However, according to vocal lawyer Miguna Miguna, the hundreds of people captured on camera cheering Uhuru and his entourage were 'hired' after residents failed to show up.

Miguna, who prior to the visit had called for demonstrations against the much publicised trip, further claimed heavy security apparatus had been deployed to protect the Head of State and his host Odinga since they were unwanted in the lakeside city.

"Only a handful of transported idlers were there at Ahero and Kisumu when the Tyrant Uhuru Kenyatta went there accompanied by his despotic collaborators Raila Odinga, William Samoei Ruto, Kalonzo Musyoka and other cartel minions.

"The Tyrants and Despots were under a heavy security cordon like an occupying army because they know that they are NOT welcomed. Thank you Nyanza people for snubbing those Despots," he posted on Facebook.

The former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate pointed an accusing finger at what he called 'compromised local media' for refusing to show images of a failed 'despotic PR stunt'.

"The compromised Kenyan media cannot show the public the fictional "turnout" in Nyanza because the people have boycotted the Mythical Show. Apart from thousands of security and hired idlers, the patriotic Nyanza People have told @RailaOdinga "NO WAY! Go away to Opoda, Bondo!" Viva," Miguna tweeted.
