The lawyers representing the former ODM governor says they will peg their case on the academic qualifications of the Jubilee governor.

According to the lawyers, Governor Abdi is in office illegally as his academic papers and qualification are anything to go by.

Speaking to journalists at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi on Wednesday, the lawyer said that the Supreme Court confirmed that Governor Abdi’s academic qualifications could not be authenticated.

“We are going to file the case afresh and peg it on governor Abdi’s academic qualification,” Brian Onderi, one the lawyers representing the former governor said.

The lawyer argues that academic qualification was one of the key conditions for eligibility to contest in the gubernatorial election.

He argues that the Jubilee governor did not have academic papers and they proved their case in the High Court and Court of Appeal.

The Supreme Court validated the election of Governor Abdi on grounds it was free and fair.
