In a hard tackling Facebook post hours after Uhuru's fury at Kasarani Stadium, Ngunjiri accused Tanga Tanga allied MPs of behaving as if they know DP William Ruto more than Uhuru does.

"Then we behave like we know William Ruto more than Uhuru does - despite the fact that it is Uhuru who brought Ruto to us in Mt Kenya after the 2007 PEV, initiated a political alliance with him and single-handedly financially supported the 2013 & 2017 campaigns that made Ruto Deputy President.

"However today we behave like we can get into a successful political alliance with Ruto - and sell him in the region - with or without Uhuru's support or blessings; maybe even against Uhuru’s wishes! We are also the ones lying to Mt Kenya region that Uhuru Kenyatta’s government has done nothing for our people; something we know is not true," said Ngunjiri.

The first term legislator also accused the Tanga Tanga brigade from the region of working secretly to dethrone Uhuru as the Agikuyu community kingpin. He said that they think they can negotiate for the community's future without Uhuru's blessings.

"But we want to be popular and this excites the crowds. Plus we think we can leverage this popularity and become the next Mt Kenya kingpin after Uhuru, and ‘negotiate’ a comfortable position in the next government post-Uhuru," added Ngunjiri.

Those leading pro-Ruto campaigns in Mt Kenya include Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwah and Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro. They have often insisted that Uhuru has never recanted his support for Ruto.

On Sunday, Uhuru warned that he would descend Mt Kenya region and deal with rebel MPs who have reportedly continued with 2022 campaigns despite his reservations.
