The debate on the future of Ukambani politics continues to rage on as a section of Kamba politicians demand for Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka's exit from active politics.

Kalonzo has been Ukambani political leader for decades.

Those pushing for the former Vice President's exit argue that he failed to champion for the region's development when he was in government.

Kalonzo has, however, rubbished the narrative stating that he did not control billions during his tenure in government and no one should blame him for anything.

The Wiper leader is now eyeing the presidential election in the 2022 polls and says he has what it takes to take up leadership from President Uhuru Kenyatta.

1. Johnson Muthama

The former Machakos Senator is seen as the man who can fit into Kalonzo's political shoes.

Muthama, a close ally of Kalonzo has been hitting out at rebel Kamba politicians who he claims are frustrating the former Vice President's 2022 presidential bid.

The ex-Machakos Senator is politically connected and resourceful.

There are claims he could bid for the Machakos gubernatorial seat in 2022 polls.

2. Mutula Kilonzo Junior 

The Makueni Senator is among youthful and vocal Kamba politicians.

Kilonzo Junior has become a dallying of Kamba residents, especially the youth.

He has been vocal on issues facing the community and Kenyans at large.

3. Gideon Mulyungi

The Mwingi Central legislator is a close ally of Kalonzo.

Nicknamed 'Tsunami', Mulyungi could be the next Kamba political leader.

4. Enoch Wambua

He is the Kitui Senator serving his first term in office.

Wambua quit the newsroom to join active politics.

He is vocal on issues facing the Kamba community.
