According to the locals, the attacks were carried out by herdsmen from Baringo County who have been invading their farms with huge herds of cattle in search of pasture.

Bahati sub-county Hospital's superintendent Dr John Ngari says the two who were admitted at the facility are positively responding to treatment.

"I can confirm that we received two male patients with serious injuries but they are positively responding to treatment," he said.

The residents are now calling upon the Ministries of Interior and Agriculture to ensure that their rights are safeguarded.

According to the locals, herdsmen started invading their farms late last year and they are now increasing the number of cattle they have been grazing on their lands since the grass has started sprouting.

They accused the administration of failing to protect them even after reporting the incident

"The security team in this area is sleeping on their job," said James Njehia.

The Tuesday night attack has instilled more fear as the herdsmen are now grazing while armed with bows and arrows.
