Luo Nyanza is gifted on matters leadership and has over time given Kenya some of her most vocal, courageous and fearless political figures.
Some of these include founding Vice President Jaramogi Oginga, opposition boss Raila Odinga, opposition activist Miguna Miguna and Embakasi East lawmaker Paul Ongili.
But there also exists a group of lawmakers representing the region who are standing out due to their vocal nature and inability to stand nonsense. Here they are.
1. Junet Mohammed
Junet never keeps silent whenever he thinks he has to speak or condemn something. He has brought himself out as a leader who cannot be hushed by anyone or anything.
Known for his hard stand and steady support for Raila, he was among the 6 lawmakers who were arrested in June 2016 for allegedly issuing inciting remarks.
The team was dubbed Pangani 6.
The Suna East parliamentarian never shies from press conferences and is until now Raila's main weapon against allies of his main rival and Deputy President William Ruto.
2. Samuel Atandi
Though he only came to office the other day, Alego Usonga lawmaker Sam Atandi has always been in the media either defending Raila or campaigning for the proposed referendum.
He is not the type that opts for behind the curtain deliberations but takes it and pours it on the podium whenever he has something to say.
He is also facing many allegations of assault, another form of negative noise that has made him very popular for bad reasons.
3. James Orengo
'Ajimmy' never goes silent, especially when he is in the company of Raila who doubles up as the Luo Nyanza kingpin.
Lately, he has been spearheading the referendum debate and has also proved himself as a person who cannot be hushed or scared.
His latest 'noisemaking' session was in Kisumu last Sunday when he poked holes into Deputy President William Ruto's opposition to the referendum.
He claimed that the DP is not even aware of what he is opposing and is just speaking for the sake of it.
