MCA Joyce Anyiso and Jackline Manyara had been suspended from the assembly for one month.

However, on during Thursday’s sitting, MCAs put the Speaker to task over what they regarded as a “harsh ruling”.

They said that the Speaker erred by delivering a ruling of the powers and privileges committee without the report being tabled in the house for discussion as required by the house standing orders.

The Speaker has now agreed to handle the matter 'in-house'.

The two MCAs alongside four others, Anne Kimani, Catherine Kamau, Susan Njuguna and Douglas Ayabei, who had been reprimanded over misconduct will now have to write a formal apology after which they will appear again before the house powers and privileges committee for possible review of their verdict.

Earlier in the day, there was panic in the house after Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission officers arrived and demanded to be given the ruling delivered by the speaker on Wednesday.

The Speaker, however, informed the officers that the house powers and privileges committee had handled the issue.
