Kisii County Governor James Ongwae on Thursday received a rare support from his wife, Elizabeth Ongwae.
Ms Ongwae while speaking at Gusii Stadium said the claims that the county boss is misusing public funds are untrue meant to taint his name.
She argued that Ongwae has been a hardworking man even before being elected Governor in 2013.
"I feel sad when I hear people calling Ongwae names just to get political mileage. Kisii residents elected a performer who is tirelessly working to improve the lives of Kisii people," she stated.
She insisted that she will not allow Ongwae to misappropriate public funds meant for development.
According to her, Ongwae will ensure all the campaign promises he made to the electorates during the campaigns are fulfilled.
"As a mother, I will not enjoy when funds meant for development are being misused around by Ongwae or any other county worker. Critics should join Governor Ongwae to serve the people because this is not the time for politics," she added.
She maintained that Kisii residents should not regret electing hard working Ongwae.
