The ODM party has been supporting Uhuru's renewed fight against graft, even with the claims from a section of Jubilee members that the move aims at sabotaging DP William Ruto's chances.

And in an interview with KTN News on Wednesday, Orengo revealed that he recently met the president for four hours and the two centered their discussions around the fight against corruption.

“I spent four hours with Uhuru – me and him alone – and I was convinced that he means what he says about the fight against corruption,” he said.

The Senate Minority Leader lauded efforts by the DCI George Kinoti and DPP Noordin Haji, adding that the two are committed to have graft lords jailed.

Also, Orengo said the president is keen to have senior state officials arrested and prosecuted for their roles in various corruption scandals.

“If there is anything that motivated us to join the handshake is the commitment to fight corruption. Both the DCI and DPP have a lot of energy and they need support and qualified investigators,” Orengo said.

The President has remained focused in the fight against graft, and has often slammed DP Ruto's allies who have often discredited the ongoing crackdown.
