Dhulkiff Omar Kirao has been missing for about a week now despite the parents and the Madrassa school administration reporting the matter at the Kijipwa police station.

Addressing the press in Malindi, Omar Mohammed, the boy’s father said that Dhulkiff disappeared from Majlis Mariff Madrassa School minutes after the evening prayers well known as Magharib.

“We are appealing to Kenyans to help us get our son back. Anyone with information about the boy can report to the Kijipwa police station or the school administration and we will be glad to get him back,” he added on Wednesday.

According to Aisha Yoiye, Dhulkiff’s mother, nobody including his colleagues knew about his disappearance.

She linked the disappearance to witchcraft, saying her son, who was last seen in a kanzu and with a wristwatch, started experiencing weird dreams in December 2018 and that he was not happy with what was happening to him.

“In December last year my son narrated to me of people who were appearing to him in dreams urging him to abandon reading the Quran and madrassa, and that they were waiting for him at the school gate to go with him,” said Ms. Aisha.

Speaking in tears, the mother said that Dhulkiff has been studying at Majlis Mariff Madrassa School for two years before he disappeared.
