The six, according to the EACC, are part of a team of 20 governors who have been under probe by the Bishop Eliud Wabukhala-led commission over alleged involvement in corrupt dealings.

This follows claims that some of the targeted persons have been using their offices in a bid to scatter the investigations for the last four years.

However, EACC detectives now say that all is set and their files are now being processed in preparation for prosecution.

Among the governors set to be prosecuted, reports the People Daily, is a county boss who could not account for his wealth during the statement recording sessions.

Despite his claims that he made the wealth during his two terms as lawmaker, EACC detectives say that the argument was not compelling.

They noted that he couldn't account for his palatial upcountry mansion which the commission believes is worth approximately Sh100 million.
