More details have emerged regarding former United States President Barack Obama's visit to Kenya next week.

Addressing the media ahead of the Monday visit, a section of Kisumu County leaders welcomed Obama and gave a small description of what to expect during his tour.

The County Executive Committee member for Tourism Achie Alai, divulged that the former US President will make a stop in Kisumu for a few minutes and meet Governor Anyang' Nyong'o.

She further noted that her department has be working with the relevant agencies involved in the visit to ensure that everything goes according to plans.

"President Obama's visit is important, we have been working with organisers to ensure a perfect visit. He will be here on Monday, he will meet Governor Nyong'o for 10 minutes then depart for Kogelo," Achie noted.

She further noted that Governor Nyong'o will again receive the former President and his delegation on their return from Kogelo, and see him off as he travels to South Africa.

Regarding the preparations made in respect to the visit, she said that the county will broadcast the event live at a public area for the residents to view.

"A set up will be created at the Jomo Kenyatta sports ground for live streaming while others can catch the event at the Acacia Hotel," she stated.
