Voice of the Potters International Ministries' pastor Lucas Samo Mthisby landed in trouble after the angry mob raided the church to avenge  the  mechanic's death.

The locals said the mechanic was killed by members of the church when he went there on Monday to demand payment for work he had done.

They said he has been repairing vehicles in the church but his pay withheld, so he decided not to leave on the day of his death, before the church members allegedly killed him.

“When he went to the church, he was told the leader was not in, and that he should return on Sunday. But he refused to leave because that had been the chorus any time he went there to get what he was owed,” a resident said as quoted by Standard.

Harrun claimed that some church youth descended on the 63-year-old with beatings when he threatened to take some church property as collateral, and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital.

On arrival at the church on Tuesday, the pastor met the mob which threatened to lynch him and had began assaulting him before the police arrived and whisked him away.

The incident was confirmed by County Police Commander Benson Maweu who said that the mob torched one car and broke the windscreens of two others.
