And Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has maximised on the cracks by luring the rebels to his side as 2022 politics take shape.

Moiben MP Silas Tiren has accused Ruto of having little to worry about farmers, insisting that he cannot support someone who doesn't carcare about their welfare.

“Why should we talk about 2022 when our people are suffering due to unsettled dues for produce they delivered to NCPB?”

“We should not talk about 2022 when our people are suffering. People should not see us (rebels) as people who are being used politically. We will work with whoever is ready to address the welfare of the farming community,” said Mr Tiren.

A fortnight ago, Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter took his charm offensive to US where he vowed to rally against the DP.

"If we allow him to lead, everyone would view Kalenjins as thieves. It's time we reject his bid," he vowed.

While Tiren blames Ruto of having him de-whipped from Agriculture Committee as chairman, Keter on his part accuses Ruto or orchastrating his election petitions which he however won at Appeals Court.

Others who have been warming towards Moi include Marakwet East MP Kangogo Bowen and Emurua Dikir's Johanna Ng'eno.
