Nyaribari Chache MP Richard Tong'i has broken silence since the Kisii legendary athlete Nyandika Mayioro as hospitalized.
The vocal MP allied to Jubilee party speaking when he paid a visit to Nyandika at Christa Marianne Hospital said he will stand with the family of the legend athlete during this time he is in hospital.
"I am wishing Mr. Mayioro a speedy recovery. During his time as an athlete he represented the Gusii community and Kenya at large well," he said.
Tong'i urged leaders to always stand with families of individuals who represented the community in sporting activities.
"As leaders, we should be supportive to the families of the people who build our name in the sporting field. Mr. Mayioro has not been abandoned in the hospital as some people are claiming," noted Tong'i.
According to the MP, some individuals are out to dwell much on propaganda with an aim to seek political relevance.
He also said it is wrong for people to politicize issues which should not be politicized.
"At times we should mind the issues we link to politics," said the lawmaker.
