According to the legislator, President Uhuru Kenyatta’s name was dragged into the matter in order to influence those loyal to him.

She said one MP approached her with a blue envelope and attempted to give her cash.

“Kuna wale walikula pesa, hata kuna mmoja alinikujia wa hapa kwetu Nakuru akaniambia yeye ndiye ameambiwa aongee na wabunge wa Nakuru awaambie hii report tunaangusha (there are MPs who took bribes, one came to me and told me he has been told to talk to Nakuru MPs and ensure the report does not sail through),” the MP said.

The MP said when she became hostile to the MP dishing cash; President Uhuru’s name was thrown into the works.

“Nikamuuliza kwa nini tunaangusha, akasema kwa sababu watu wametajwa ni wa Uhuru (When I asked why I was told that it is because the people mentioned in the report are linked to Uhuru),” Kihara said.
