Confirm is a criminal group in Nakuru which steals from mobile money users after hoodwinking them through several messages.

Lucy Muthoni, 25, is said to be an MPESA operator in Bondeni slum and was arrested on Wednesday night in an operation led by Nakuru County Commissioner Joshua Nkanatha.

The suspect was reportedly found with several identity cards, phones and a records book with peoples’ details such as phone numbers and year of birth.

She also had Sh130, 000.

Nkanatha said Muthoni is suspected to be the person divulging customers’ details to the illegal group whose members pose as genuine mobile money transfer operators while duping unsuspecting Kenyans.

After being duped, Kenyans give their PIN numbers without knowing and end up losing their cash.

The suspect will be arraigned in court after investigations are through.

The commissioner warned illegal outfits marauding in Nakuru that the law will catch up with them.
