Speaking on Saturday at Gusii Stadium, Raila said Governor Ongwae should not allow corruption to take place in his government since it will derail development.

“I wish to call on my brother and Kisii Governor James Ongwae to ignore critics and end corruption and land grabbing in the county. Corruption is the biggest enemy of development. Corrupt officers should be sacked,” he said.

Raila reiterated that Ongwae should engage more youths to reduce the number of youths loitering and idling in villages.

“More tenders should be given to youths and not the elderly. I am calling on Kisii youths not to shy away and apply for tenders once advertised by the county,” he stated.

He said governors should copy what President Uhuru Kenyatta is doing to ensure houses constructed on public lands are demolished.

“Public resources must be respected. Any building on public land or near the road should be demolished. All governors should copy what President Uhuru Kenyatta is doing for the sake of ending impunity in this country,” he noted.
