Speaking during an interview on K24's Daily Brief show, Kabogo said he had plans to transform Kiambu into a self-reliant county.

"If I was elected back as Kiambu governor by the end of my second term I would have made Kiambu a self-reliant county," said Kabogo.

However, Kabogo's dreams did not materialise as he was defeated in the August polls by his main opponent Ferdinand Waititu.

His statement sparked a debate online, eliciting mixed reactions among residents.

Stephen Njoroge said: "He did an excellent job especially in the health sector but failed in flu structure. He should blame Ruto for not being re-elected."

Bosco J Parker added: "At least you are talking straight from your heart honest words true to the facts he helped transform Kiambu county hospitals and am sure if even he can have a national seat this man would be very helpful to us as central Kenya citizens."

Jane Njoroge said: "I did not vote Kabogo BUT one thing I know on matters of Health I can boldly say you did well sir."

Charlie Wingik said: "He did his part and Wanjiku didn't buy his bullshit."

Peter Njenga Wa Miharati asked: "How and you have cheap ideas of buying thuruari for Kiambu women?"

Ken Kagiri said: "Trying to remain relevant is this painful...woiiyee."

Mutai Stanley said: "You are too selfish and cannot make Kiambu great."

Evanson Mwiti asked: "What makes you think you can do better now? Ama ni uongo yenye mmezoea kuweka wananchi box.Thii ukiumaga."

Mburu Muniu asked: "How? The only reason that Kiambu voted for Waititu was because they were tired of Kabogo's arrogance, pride, high handedness and lack of vision, just to mention but a few. Good opportunity never returns. By 2022, a new generation will hear nothing of Kabogo or Waititu."
