Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has lauded DRC for the peaceful transition of power after their concluded elections which saw Felix Tshisekedi emerge victorious to succeed Joseph Kabila in a peacefully.
Taking to his Facebook page after meeting the DRC Senator Francois Muamba Tshishimbi, Babu Owino commended the orderliness witnessed at DRC terming them as the light for the rest of the continent.
"I commended Honorable Tshishimbi for the peaceful and orderly transition of power they recently enjoyed in the DRC citing this as a shining example for the rest of the continent," read part of his Facebook post.
He reaffirmed his support to the maturity seen in DRC after President Joseph Kabila handed over power to Tshisekedi despite the world not recognizing the achievement made.
"DRC has not received the recognition it deserves for this notable achievement. But as a social democrat, I took the opportunity to state that I am fully behind the display of democratic maturity that was witnessed when President Kabila handed over to President Tshishekedi,
"I wish the people of DRC well as they embark on the next chapter of their national journey," he added.
DRC has shown Africa and the entire world that power can change hands without conflicts.
