The results were released at Makindu Hospital in Makueni County on Tuesday.

According to the pathologist in charge of the autopsy Dr. David Kasanga, the deceased had four gunshot wounds.

One on his leg, another on the palm and two others on the chest.

The results indicate that the shots fired at his chest hit his lungs thereby cutting short his life.

"He was shot four times, the shot on the leg broke the bone. The other one dislocated his thumb from the hand but according to our assessment what killed him were the two bullets on the chest. They broke two ribs on the back and front, hit the heart and lungs killing him on the spot," Kasanga said.

He addressed the press in Makindu after conducting the postmortem on Tuesday.

Kasanga said no bullet was recovered from the body, an indication that the boy was shot from a close range.

One of the deceased's family members Benedict Mutua said the family was satisfied with the autopsy results.

Benedict Kyule was allegedly killed by Kenya Wildlife Services rangers while hunting at Tsavo West National Park last Friday.

Several leaders and residents have called for justice to be served to the deceased's family.

On Monday, irate locals took to the streets protesting the Form Four student's murder.

They presented a signed memorandum seeking to have the officers who triggered the bullets arrested and prosecuted, among other demands.
