However, there are politicians who the voters and the community at large might not want to hear anything about after the 2022 polls.

1. Okoth Obado

The Migori governor is among politicians considered rebels in the region, after openly firing attacks on area political kingpin and opposition boss Raila Odinga.

He is also on his second and final term and is unlikely to go for a lower seat and has as well not shown any intentions of vying for the presidency in the 2022 general elections.

The fact that he seems to have parted ways with Raila and his implication in corruption and the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno makes him an infamous politician.

Therefore, unless he is nominated for a top seat in government after 2022, he will be one of the people no one in the region will want to hear anything about once he retires.

2. Cyprian Awiti

The Homabay County boss who is also known as 'Akuba' (the big man) or 'Jamawego' (the man from Mawego) is already getting forgotten, two years into his second term.

He has been missing in action for months as a result of his eye ailment and is as well facing allegations of poor leadership in terms of development, which will make his retirement a celebration.

This was confirmed by Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma on Radio Nam Lolwe last Saturday after the MP revealed that Awiti is yet to provide residents in the county with water, seven years into power.

He has also not been very vocal since his entrance into politics, deciding to silently lead his county as the likes of his Kisumu counterpart Anyang' Nyong'o publicise themselves.

Consequently, he will easily be forgotten by many after 2022.

3. Oburu Oginga

Despite being opposition chief Raila Odinga's brother, Oburu has since grown into a political hard sell in his Bondo bedrock, as Raila continues to bask in the love and admiration of the entire Luo Nyanza region.

In the event that he once again loses in any political seat he will be seeking in 2022, then the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP will have to consider doing something else.

He has lost in bid his to recapture the Bondo seat twice, which can be considered proof that he has lost his political footing.

Therefore, no one will want to hear anything about him after 2022 now that he is appearing to be depending on Raila, who is his younger brother, for political survival.

It is worth noting that Raila nominated him into the  Senate in 2013 and again facilitated his nomination to EALA after the 2017 polls.
