This comes only days after COTU boss Francis Atwoli made similar remarks during a function at the coast over the weekend, claiming that Ruto will not be on the ballot paper.

Speaking during a press conference in Parliament on Monday, the youthful lawmaker told the DP to take Atwoli's remarks very seriously and not dare downplay him.

He added that Atwoli's word is final, further calling upon the DP to stop the early politics he is already engaging in, 3 years to the elections, noting that it won't be of any use.

“I want to tell the DP, if Atwoli has said you will not be on the ballot, then you will not be there. This idea of moving from place to place playing politics will not work,” he was quoted by the Standard.

On his side, nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi said that the remarks were a reflection of the Luhya region's stand, and a demonstration that the region is not for Ruto's presidency.

"Leave our mzee alone. He is a respected person, and when he speaks, the entire region has spoken,” said Osotsi.

Others who echoed the remarks and lashed out at Ruto and team for attacking the trade unionist over his remarks were Lilian Gogo (Rangwe) and Anthony Oluoch (Mathare).

Others were Samuel Atandi (Alego Usonga) and Elsie Muhanda (Kakamega).

But the DP's allies have since laughed Atwoli's prediction off, sweeoing them aside and lashing st him for disrespecting Ruto.
