The National Super Alliance (NASA) don is aging, and at 73-years of age currently, he will obviously be soon forced to move out of the scene, willingly or naturally.

The fate of the Oginga's in regard to politics currently lies in Raila's hands and shoulders, and since his elder brother Oburu is politically weak and openly unfit for the post, he is not the right choice.

The family's political head post would have been better in the hands of Raila's departed son Fidel Odinga, who, unfortunately, was summoned by his creator in early 2015.

The rest of his children, Raila Odinga Junior and Winnie Odinga are both too young and still inexperienced to lead in that capacity, with all his remaining relatives being too silent to carry the burden.

His cousin and former Gem lawmaker Jakoyo Midiwo, though very vocal and quite qualified for the seat is, however, a political reject who lost his parliamentary seat to a newcomer in the concluded election.

This leaves Raila with only one option; his oldest daughter Rosemary Odinga who has since shown her interest in politics and willingness to represent the portion of electorate allied to Raila.

Rosemary had announced her interest for the Kibera seat in the concluded poll only to drop off later.

He candidature was termed a wrong move as his father was also in the race for the presidency, Oburu in the race for Bondo and Midiwo seeking to defend his seat and this would have given the picture of a power-hungry family, spoiling it for Raila.

By choosing the Kibera parliamentary seat, a place that was represented by his father between 1992 and 2013 under the then larger Langa'ta constituency, she indicated her desire to take after her dad and should be granted the opportunity.
