The student only identified as Sandra is allegedly said to have committed suicide over what she termed as 'unbearable' life.

On Friday, the deceased's friends stumbled on her lifeless body dangling from a rope tied to the rafter of her rented house at Kwa Vonza market in Kitui Rural.

Eyewitnesses, the majority who are her classmates said the deceased was pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology.

The deceased is said to have left a suicide note that has since been handed to the police.

In the suicide note, the deceased says she opted to take her life due to unbearable life.

"Dear mum and dad, I am sorry I had to do this. I love you guys so much but I can't take it any longer. Life had become unbearable," the deceaded wrote in the alleged suicide note.

Lower Yatta sub-county police commander Charles Chacha confirmed the incident.

Chacha said the investigations have been launched to establish what might have made the student kill herself.

As the investigations into the incident continue, there are emerging claims that a lecturer might have forced the student to commit suicide.

The deceased's classmates allege that one of their lecturer's 'painful words' to the deceased might have made her commit suicide.

They allege that the lecturer told the deceased that she was not going to graduate.

A witness who sought anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter claimed the lecturer said the painful words during a project presentation on Thursday.

"She was not herself after the lecturer 'dressed her down' during project presentation," the deceased's classmate Vero (second name withheld for security purposes) said in an interview on Friday.

Detectives say they are seeking to find out what made the student to kill herself.

The deceased body was moved to the Kitui Level Four Hospital's mortuary for postmortem.
