This comes amid an ongoing faceoff between forces allied to Deputy President William Ruto and Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.

In an interview on Radio Citizen Monday morning, the Senator bashed the two camps for stooping low and abandoning their leadership role.

He added that they risk polarizing the nation since the two enjoy massive national backing, urging them to put to a halt the bitter exchange and concentrate on more important issues.

"Shame on these politicians insulting each other. This is a recipe for a national political conflict," he said.

They should know that they wield a lot of power and cease making actions that can incite their supporters against each other," he advised.

The scuffle began after a section of Rift Valley leaders allied to the DP accused Joho of involvement in drug trade.

The county boss would later  hit back, terming them servants of Ruto whom he termed as corrupt.

Involved in the fight are Nandi Governor Stephen Sang and Kapseret lawmaker Oscar Sudi on Ruto's side and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) brigade on Joho's side.
