The Newly appointed AU Special Envoy for Infrastructure Development Raila Odinga has safely landed at Durham Airport where he was mobbed by Kenyans living in the USA.

The ODM leader is due to give a public Lecture at Duke University, Durham, North Carolina on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 titled “Will there ever be an African Miracle”.

According to the university’s institute of African American studies, the lecture will be held at the Rubenstein Library Holsti-Anderson Family Assembly room 153 and will commence at 5.30 PM. 

Before leaving the country for the week long tour, Mr. Odinga accepted his appointment at Mashujaa Day celebrations at Bukhungu stadium in Kakamega.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto also lauded Raila's latest appointment which however, did not meet Kenyans by surprise given his noble contributions as a Pan-Africanist.

The AU commission chairman Moussa Faki confirmed that Mr. Odinga will be operating from Addis Ababa and Nairobi and will be entrusted with coordinating Infrastructural Development.

At the US, enthusiastic Kenyans hugged Mr. Odinga before he left the airport to the university where he will deliver the lecture.

The ODM leader is also expected to meet Kenyans living in South East states of the US where they will discuss Kenya-US relations.
