On Wednesday, Soy MP Caleb Kositany said that about 100 lawmakers will attend the meeting, where all leaders from the larger Rift Valley region have been invited.

To counter this, Cherangany lawmaker Joshua Kuttuny has organized a parallel meeting for area politicians opposed to the DP, which will be held at the Maasai Lodge in Kajiado to discuss the same issue today (Friday).

Kuttuny told The Star that over 30 lawmakers from the KANU party, ODM, Chama Cha Mashinani and those from Jubilee Party members like himself will be in attendance.

"All is set for tomorrow (Friday). We have like-minded leaders from all the counties in Rift Valley and we will look at the BBI report then later share our resolutions with Kenyans,” he said on phone on Thursday night.

While terming the team meeting at Naivasha as a group of "sycophants who don't have the interest of the region at heart", he said that they (his group) want the best for the region.

“The issues that have been captured in the report are some of the things we have rooted for individually and as a team. We are after the good of Rift Valley,” he added.

However, the meeting has been dismissed by Ruto's allies, with Kositany terming the attendee's people out to undermine the DP, but whose plot will badly fail.
