This comes only days after Ruto's request to ODM leader Raila Odinga to declare that he will accept the results and will not cause chaos should he (Ruto) beat him in the race.

But speaking on Tuesday, Maanzo who hails from the Raila-led National Super Alliance (NASA) warned that the election will obviously be questioned should Ruto attempt to rig them.

However, he said that the questioning will not be done by Raila perse, but Kenyans, who he said cannot take another rigged election, after a series of similar claims in the previous polls.

"If there will be rigging then you will have problems from Kenyans themselves not even Raila. (Kama kura imeibiwa utapata shida. Hata sio kutoka kwa Raila lakini kwa wakenya wenyewe)," said the Wiper party MP.

He made the remarks on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha on Tuesday, where he also sought to correct the narrative that Raila will vie, saying that he has not declared that yet.

Maanzo also advised that Ruto can only assure himself of a comfortable and unquestioned win by refraining from interfering with the much-anticipated contest in any way.

"If you don't want problems don't rig. (Kama hutaki shida na wewe usiibe)," he noted.
