The crisis meeting was called to set the stage for the embattled Nominated Member of Parliament's forced exit, which is set to follow another high-level meeting set for Thursday next week.

Sossion who has been engaged in fights with fellow officials at the union did not attend the meeting, having been was away on an official meeting with the National Assembly Labour Committee in Mombasa in his MP capacity.

This comes only shortly after his name was struck off the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) roll, which his critics are now banking on to push him out of the commission, as per the dictates of the union's constitution.

“Persons eligible for membership of the union shall be only those who are or have been regularly and normally engaged as a teacher,” reads the constitution.

Members who attended the meeting concluded that Sossion must stop speaking on behalf of teachers as he is no longer one, and must as well voluntarily resign from the union ahead of the next NEC meeting or be kicked out.

Speaking on the same on Tuesday, Sossion who has since rubbished his deregistration as a teacher denied knowing of any deliberations to discuss him.

“I am in Mombasa and I do not know what you are talking about,” he told the Standard.
