Dida's wife Estail Ali Ibrahim has filed for divorce to terminate her 10-year old marriage, citing frequent abuse and disrespect from Dida whom she accuses of severally calling her prostitute.

Estail now wants the court to restrain Dida from propagating what she cites as baseless accusations about her, including other allegations of infidelity at a time when she was engaged to another man, Takrem Thomas Dulu, before she met him.

She further wants the court to allow her former husband Takrem Dulu to undergo a rigorous paternity test to determine that he is the father of her eighteen-year-old son.

In a divorce petition seen by this writer of number No. 112 filed in April, Dida's wife claims that he has never contributed anything towards the daily family expenditures in terms of food or even shelter but has instead abandoned them even when he was aware that she has been jobless for a while.

“The respondent has treated the petitioner with a lot of cruelty and contempt by making demeaning, disrespectful and abusive words on several occasions. The petitioner alleged she is psychologically and emotionally affected by the respondent’s frequent abusive words, for instance, referring to her as s prostitute and a liar. That he has been abusive and showed violent behavior towards petitioner has had negative impacts towards her and the marriage,” reads the petition in part.

Estail also claimed that she has for long played co-wife to Dida’s several other wives including Amina and Rukia, but the latter chose to give more priority.

The estranged wife also wants the court to compel the professionally trained teacher to cater for all the accrued bills, including but not limited to a consolatory gift for all the entire duration of their marriage and give her three months jiddah alimony.
