Uhuru on Friday vowed to push the realization of the BBI to the end, at the time when it faces some opposition from allied of Deputy President William Ruto, Cherargei included.

In a phone interview with the Nation on Tuesday, the Senator faulted Uhuru for giving the BBI, founded alongside ODM leader Raila Odinga, too much attention.

He claimed that so interested is Uhuru in the BBI that he appears to have abandoned his development Big-4 agenda, replacing it with the much hyped BBI.

“But it looks like this handshake was more political than unity of the country. I think we no longer have the Big 4 agenda but have the Big 1 agenda which is the BBI,” he said.

He added that the handshake has been inconsequential to Kenya, adding that otherwise, Kenyans would have seen results by now, insisting that none has been seen.

He termed this a demonstration that the truce and the BBI was just a political stunt, adding that the nation would be in more trouble should the BBI taskforce propose a referendum.

“If it was to allow President Kenyatta and Jubilee to deliver on the Big 4 agenda, we could have seen the results by now," he added.

But in response, National Assembly Minority Leader John Mbadi rubbished the complains, wondering why the Tangatanga brigade is opposed to the referendum push.

He said that this points at dishonesty, considering that the group has been involved in constant politics.
